Local Carolean forces, have congregated in the border town of Iwangorod, near Narva, to set about upon their interpretation of the divine will of God.
Orthodox Churches, previously tolerated in Iwangorod, are set ablaze. Their wooden structures filled with those who failed to convert to Lutheranism, several hundred Orthodox peasants, burghers and priests (in their funny dresses) were heard screaming, along with the crowd of converts.
These lands have not known such brutal suppression since the times of the wars of Novgorod with the Monastic States of the Baltic.
The Caroleans of Estonia, Kexholm and the rest of Ingria have incited anti-Orthodox round ups and converted dozens of villages, for the protection of the fragile borders of the East. Hundreds have also fled to the Orthodox state of Russia.
Icons are piled up, seen as the indulgent nature of Sloth and Guttony, amongst the cardinal sins, and burned. The smoke was reportedly seen from afar afield as Sapolje, on the Russian side of the border.

In responce to this outrage Swedish owned businesses and private property in Russian territory is confiscated by the state.
Many villagers commit heinous acts of murder and revenge in anger. Local militias and judges put up only token resistance to these crimes.

The extreme lengths taken by Sweden to persecute Orthodox Christians has left it's previous reputation of moderate tolerance in tatters. With levels of religious tolerance dangerously low, Sweden risks prompting rebellions from it's religious minority populations.
As it happened, there wasn't all that much Swedish business interest in Russia, much of it had been transferred to Denmark following agreements over potential joint colonial ventures and growing hostility had caused many of the remaining swedes to leave the country. However, Russia is able to raise 500 Ducats (yes, only five hundred) in seized property.

Thankfully Sweden is relatively homogeneous in terms of religious beliefs.
Following Russian actions against Swedish business interests, Sweden prevents Russian traders from trading or travelling down the navigable rivers to the Baltic, docking at any of the Baltic sea ports and seizes any property owned by Russian trading classes in Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Ingermanland, Kexholm, Stettin and Bremen.

Sweden is warned that its unjust, immoral and indefensible actions must stop, or there will be severe consequences.
