The Chancellor was penning a letter to the Pope and the Superior General of the Society of Jesus. The King wished to set up a Jesuit school in Lwow, to spread the faith in the East, and spread education in the deprived borderlands. The King's purse will cover the endeavour, but he was hoping for Papal support and some experienced missionaries to spearhead the endeavour. The events of the preceding century had shown the weaknesses of a religiously divided land, but neither the King, not Pan Habasinski wished to see religious tolerance fade. The Commonwealth was a beacon of hope, and they could not allow fear to snuff it out. Never the less, in spite of freedom, the Orthodox populations of the East had proven disloyal.
Habasinski believed, with good reason, that the majority of the peasants could be brought round with a positive message, and education in the true nature of Christ. Few peasants hold strong views on religion beyond a fondness for the old ways, and Jesuits were experts in reconciling truth, with the traditions of the people. Catholic education and proselytising would do wonders for the poor, backwards, Easterners.

"Your Majesty, the Pope has issued an edict directing missionaries to Poland. What's more, his Holiness has deigned to donate a sizable sum to the crown! He truly is a most benevolent man, like the Apostles of old!" the Chancellor announces to the King, when he enters his council chamber.
"You do now how to gladden a man after a disappointing breakfast, Janusz. This is excellent. Pen a thank you to his Holiness, I will issue holiday mass to celebrate this great honour!", with that, the King leaves the room, positively skipping, to kill himself a better breakfast.
Janusz draws up the letter, and begins planning. A Jesuit Academy is founded in Warsaw, to educate and recruit missionaries. Further schools are to be founded in towns and cities with large Orthodox populations. The remaining funds are to be added to the treasury.

"The painting is complete, m'lud." states the artist, with a satisfied air. Pan Habasinski was greatly pleased, as posing had grown tiresome, "Here, what does you eminence think?" "That isn't me..." replies the Chancellor, confused. "Are you sure?", interjects the painter. "Pretty sure."

The first Jesuits are ready to move out to their respective missions. They have been steered towards Zaprozia as a high priority. The Jesuit order is very well respected for their fidelity, and their respect of native traditions. It is hopeful that they will provide just the right message for the traditionalist Orthodox people of Zaprozia. They will seek to mend the schism in traditional practices, and educate the Zaprozians on the truth of the Holy Apostolic Church, against the slander spread by the corrupt Patriarch of Moscow.

Following the call for a crusade against the decadent and cruel Grand Duke of Moscow, a muster centre is established at Lublin to gather all the foreign volunteers in one place.
While many will be well trained and equipped, the staff are prepared to ensure that all match up to at least the Polish standard.
Moreover, sensitivity is drilled into the soldiers. This is a war against the corruption of the patriarchate. They are reminded that under Polish law, there is no Orthodox church, and that "Orthodox" believers are to be treated as Catholics (albeit with some strange traditions).
