The Sultan sends a letter of congratulations to King William, his imperial brother, and to the servants of the crown, praising them for their success in uniting the sibling-kingdoms of Scotland and England.
The letter is accompanied by the gift of an ornate dagger, bejeweled and inscribed on the blade with a tughra-style monogram for King William III. The Arabic-script monogram is explained in the letter to recount the royal descent of House Orange, and include blessings and prayers for the monarch.
