Peter looked at the two messages. One was from the Venetians telling him that they lacked the resources to evacuate his army be sea. The other was from a scout telling him that two Ottoman armies (each bigger than his own) were marching south to engage him. What was he to do? Retreat south and become trapped in Greece? Dash east and find himself confronted by a an even bigger army?
No, the time had come to stop darting hither and tither. Now he needed to bring those Turkish bastards to battle.
Peter brushed aside the two scraps of parchment and bellowed for his scribe to begin writing down the stream of orders he barked out. Split would not be a terrible place to die after all, and maybe he wouldn't die.
