In an exhilarating year, the 2nd Great Turkish War and the Anglo-Danish War have entered full swing. But with the death of Leopold and the accession of Joseph, Austria has backed out of the War of the Spanish Succession. They were initially followed by a handful of Imperial allies, as they had not consulted William III. William has agreed to a separate ceasefire, but their are still issues to discuss before real peace can be achieved. The most notable of these is who should have sovereignty over the Spanish Netherlands?
Joseph has inherited the Austrian Crown and has been elected Holy Roman Emperor. He is a keen reformer and has stacked his council full of young minds keen to depart from the profoundly conservative policies of Leopold. Joseph is also known to be a staunch supporter of the Empire, and believes very strongly that territories lost to the HRE must be returned to the HRE. This will undoubtedly cause friction with his Austria's neighbours.
OoC: As per usual, let me know if you feel I've missed anything. There are a lot of military manoeuvres that need to be processed. I (finally) have a day off tomorrow, and I will strive to get everything up to date. Feel free to send me reminders if you feel I've missed anything.
