The Austrian Royal family, the Queen, royal heirs, and grandchildren, will evacuate the city of Vienna and move to Prague under escort of the Royal Guard. Emperor Leopold I [chronologically, when he's finished with the Imperial Diet in Erfurt] intends to return to Vienna very soon and remain there helping to lead the city's defences with Prince Eugene when the general arrives, and will help rally the troops there - (he will go on inspections, oversee drills, eat all his meals with his men, attend meetings of his generals and reacquaint himself with the art of the sword and musket).
- If he does not return in time, he shall be attached to the Imperial Army of Prince Eugene -

It was a grand sight. The Tsar Pyotr, Prince of all the Russias, arrived in Vienna to rapturous applause. He was still shining from his glorious victories in the North and expected a fine banquet at the expense of the Imperial treasury, in the company of the Emperor. He was mightily disappointed when he learned that the Emperor had been urgently required outside the city.

Tsar Peter is invited to make the Hofburg Palace his home and place of operations. Although the Austrian economy is currently stretched thin, money is found to host the glorious Tsar. What remains of the Imperial honour guard put on a grand military display in the Imperial court yard; their uniforms torn, dirty, the soles missing from the bottom of the odd boot, the exhausted look in their eyes, swords still stained, missing buttons, missing lanyards, some marching with sticks as support, some with fresh bandages. In appearance, this was not the Austria of 1701, but in spirit, and will, it was. They marched as a single unit, in a disciplined regimental fashion, though beaten and bloody. The Emperors will remains unbowed.
The Tsar is updated of the position of the Imperial Army. The note read: Franco-Spanish Force driven from Southern Germany, Imperial Army en route to Vienna, Prince Eugene ordered to take command of cities defences and Austrian armies mustering there, should be along soon
A similar message from the Emperor read: Dealing with the Holy Roman Empire, diplomacy is key, they are key, Royal Family moved to Prague in unmarked carriages but escorted by Imperial Royal Guard, I shall be there as I was in 1683, Leopold.

The Tsar is less than happy in finding the city devoid of real protection. He occupies some quarters near the palace but declines to sleep in another mans bed whilst he is away.
Peter sets swiftly about putting the cities defences in order. He has new boots and equippment issued for the Royal Guard whilst paying from his own pocket for their uniforms to be repaired.
The Russian army garrisons the defences and prepares for a coming siege. Weaknesses in the walls are dealt with by engineers and potentially vulberable stores are protected.

May God bless the kindness of the Russian Tsar for helping us in this great time of need.
Leopold.
