His Imperial Majesty, Emperor Leopold I, in accordance with the powers endowed on him by the Imperial Crown of the Holy Roman Empire, calls an emergency meeting of the Imperial Diet in the picture city of Erfurt, central Germany. He requests that the Electors, but not the suspended Elector of Bavaria, Dukes, Margraves, Princes and Prince-Bishops, and all members of the Empire attend either in person or through representatives and official delegations.
The Emperor makes it known that in the face of the Ottoman invaders the Empire must once again come together in a strong and brotherly manner and in the name of European Christendom stand firm with the Emperor in his efforts through the Holy Alliance to repulse the Godless armies of the Sultan and ensure stability
Will must raise new Imperial forces and funds for the coming struggle of struggles against the Ottoman invader until such a time that European Christendom and civilisation be considered safe and secure once more!

OOC: human error on my part, I meant to change Prague to Erfurt. The diet will meet in Erfurt. Additional notes are to be sent out to ensure no delegates show up in Prague expecting something to happen

Many of the states involved in the Diet had already lost significant numbers of their soldiery in the West fighting for the Hapsburgs, and their appetite for war had waned.
The Prussian representatives claimed their King was still reeling from the loss of an entire army he had placed under command of the Emperor. He cannot spare more men, but will donate 10,000 Ducats to each of the Holy League factions.
Hanover feels similarly, though their loss of life had been minimal, they informed the Emperor that they have raised an army to be sent to the Spanish Netherlands.
The war effort did get incredible support from the Arch-Bishop of Munster, who pledged an entire Army. Other than that, some of the less militaristic states offered up one or two units to bolster the Munsterian force.

His Imperial Majesty suggests instead the provision of loans and funds so that Austria, fighting on the behalf of the Holy Roman Empire, for its defence, may be able to raise and rebuild Austrian military units for the Ottoman Front
In return, when the war is at an end, the Emperor will consider introducing economic reform desired by members to improve trade and income with the Empire
In the meantime, an Imperial Reichsbank is suggested as well to begin improving the Imperial economy today (OOC: if I remember, this did improve the economy of the HRE in the last game, until it was blown up.)

After the first session of the Diet, Leopold retired to his quarters. It had been a long few years, and they had taken their toll. The next morning, his servants attempted to wake him for another tedious day of politics. When the Emperor did not stir, they called immediately for the Empress and the family's personal physician.
Leopold was declared dead, the cause being acute stress. His eldest son, Joseph, is expected to be elected Holy Roman Emperor.
OoC: Historically Leopold died in 1705. Many of you already know that Leopold (the player) has decided to abandon the game due to his Masters course heating up, so I thought I'd go ahead with the death.

Friedrich August, Kurfurst Sachsen sends his deepest sympathies. A mass of remembrance is to be held in Warszawa in his honour.
Saxony recognises the validity of the election of 1690 where Joseph, Rex Romanum, was elected as successor to Leopold.
