Ambassador Jean-Casimir Baluze informs the Tsar's government of the Kingdom of France's demand that Russia make immediate repayment of French loans in full by January 1st, 1705.

France will not receive this repayment. Such an option was not stipulated in the loan agreement and will therefore not be offered. Russia is perfectly happy to maintain the current payment scheme, but if pressed will cut off all payments until the French are willing to negotiate.

Russia's contentedness is of no concern to the Sun King. Should the allotted loans not be repaid in full by January 1st 1705, France will terminate diplomatic relations with Russia and seek assurances elsewhere.

The French must do as they deem best, but Russia will make no more payments. France, it seems, desires war with all the world.
