Leaving behind a garrison of 1,000 Life Guards, 2,000 Line Infantry and 800 Militia Cavalry to protect the growing fortress at Narva Peter leads the army of the Imperial Guard on the march!
The following troops are taken:
The Imperial Guard, commanded by Tsar Peter
2,650 Preobrazhensky lifeguards
13,000 Line Infantry
3,000 Lifeguards
2,700 Engineers
2,000 Militia Cavalry
1,250 Dragoons
1,500 Hussars
1,000 Ulans
235 Field Guns
150 Howitzers
The Vanguard of the force consists of 5 regiments of Lifeguards and three Regiments of Hussars. This column is supported by fifty field guns drawn across the snow on sleds. The main body of infantry, artillery and engineers marches a short distance behind the vanguard and is protected on its flanks and rear by four regiments of Militia Cavalry who act as a mobile picket.
The Tsar is guarded by the 650 men of his most Elite Lifeguard Regiment. They are accompanied by the recently raised Guard Ulans. The divisions of Dragoons act as a flying column, to be used in supporting the vanguard or blocking a potential flanking force. A detachment of 250 Dragoons acts as a forward reconnaissance force, riding a day ahead of the vanguard.
The Army will march to Donetsk via Moscow. There will be a large triumph held in Moscow where the Tsar will take pride of place. This will be the last Imperial Triumph before the capitol is moved.
