The Transylvanian nobles who have for the past two years been in secret talks with the Austrian government are requested to meet representatives of his Imperial Highness, Leopold I, at Borșa to discuss terms and finalise an agreement regarding the current troubles facing the region
Vienna will be sending its top and most trusted diplomat, Luigi Ferdinando Marsili, and a delegation of other influential ministers
The congress will take place in the town hall, although the congress is top secret. However, there should be no trouble from the local village, made up as it is from sheep farmers and illiterate peasants, whom have likely never left the village of Borșa
All the noblemen invited are ordered to speak of this to no one and destroy their invites on reading them

The Transylvanians begin with a incredible demand. They wish to leave the fold of the Austrian Empire, and with it those meddlesome Hungarian nobles, with Rakoczy as Crown Price of an Austrian vassal state.

Rakoczy is given clemency so that where ever he is now he may return to Austria and take part in these talks

The Crown Prince need not be told twice. He arrives within the month, followed by 3,000 Cossack mercenaries. Fear not, it seems these are purely for his own security, for now...

Rakoczy, Crown Prince of Transylvania, enters the town hall amidst a standing ovation and rapturous applause. The Austrian officials assembled bid everyone takes their seats, the nobles did as they were bid. Events suddenly took a strange turn, as officials poured into the assembly from back rooms, and began to arrest the dissident nobility. Some of the nobles ran to the large wooden doors at the entrance hall, but they had been barred from the outside.
The Crown Prince himself was grabbed. He pushed away his assailant and drew his sabre. He cut down several men, cries of anguish and frenzied shouts from inside the building alerted some nearby Cossacks. The mercenaries, were refused access by Austrian officials guarding the barricaded doors. However, they were offered a bribe to leave and never return to Austria. Meanwhile, inside the town hall, they heard the shouting stop and cheers again erupted. The doors began to shake, as if being taken don by a siege ram, albeit a very small one. It did not take long for the bars to splinter and fragment. The Austrian officials started to take steps back as the doors burst open, revealing a collection of Transylvanian nobles carrying a long bench. Inside, the floors had been stained with blood. Rakoczy exited the building, carrying the severed head of Marsili. The remaining agents were allowed to leave, in order to spread word of the events of that day.
In a brief meeting, of what Rakoczy referred to as the 1st assembly of the Transylvanian Diet, a motion was passed. Transylvania would be an independent nation, free from the shackles of foreign rule and the crippling oppression of the Hungarians. The nobles departed the town, and prepared for war.
