The Imperial Council is fully staffed once more. The former commander of the navy (Kapudan Pasha) Ebubekir Pasha has been moved to a financial-administrative position in recognition for his acumen. Talented men are placed in all positions, though the Katkhuda (deputy to the Janissary Agha) has been promoted to replace his colleague. The old Janissary Agha, has been granted a modest stipend, and a house on the sea of Marmara, to retire in luxury. The new government could not let a rebellion go unnoticed, but have taken the least action possible by simply removing the head, and even sparing his life. Rami Pasha praises the departing commander to the council, but explains his reasoning. Such is the way with rebellions, a sacrifice is always needed to mark the end of insurrection.
A talented Koprulu is appointed to the Beylerbeylik of Rumelia, with a proven track record as a great organiser and commander of men, while another capable safe-pair-of-hands with experience in the east is appointed to the Beylerbeylik of Anadolu.
