So I have decided to resign as co-admin of this forum given that I don't feel that I can execute the demands of the role in a manner that is satisfactory. The Viceroy has offered me the option of continuing to play as Portugal which I’d certainly be open to. However, we both understand fully that players would have reservations about an ex-admin then going on to participate in the game at a non-admin level.
This is why we have decided that Portugal would be the most suitable option for such a scenario. Why? Because Portugal has been isolated from the events of the game and, to quote the Viceroy is the "North Korea of Europe". I therefore feel that I could play as Portugal without compromising anyone’s private intrigues given that Portugal is not in a position to act upon them. As of now my Admin privileges have been revoked and all of my messages have been deleted (a screenshot can be provided if people deem it necessary.).
Of course, this is a choice that is fundamentally down to you, the players. Don't worry about booting me out of the game, to be honest I probably need to go out a find a job. Instead, consider how you feel about such a move and be honest. I will not be offended if people feel such a move would compromise the accountability of the game.
