Our two states face an ever more uncertain future ahead. Austria would like to propose an alliance between our two states so that we may alleviate this threat, and in doing so help bring greater regional stability to this area of 'Germany' - as well as the wider HRE. Austria wishes to see the sovereignty of its friend on the Rhine kept safe and secure for the foreseeable future. I, Leopold I, would be honoured if you signed this alliance with Austria, I wish to see the relations of our two states grow only deeper and stronger.
Kind regards,
Leopold I.

Maximilian Henry of Bavaria, Prince-Bishop of Munster, Cologne and Leige decides against such an alliance. He claims it is due to the Emperor's interference in the Palatinate succession, robbing Charlotte Elizabeth, Duchess of Orleans, of her rightful place as Elector. However, the Prince-Bishop's ambition is well known, and his French sympathies are also fairly well documented.
