In a plot that had been brewing for some time, Orthodox rebels in Narva, Krexholm and Ingermanland have finally risen up. Over the past few years they developed a powerful leadership, patient and clinical. They announce that, with immediate effect, the three Orthodox provinces of Finland are, by the will of God, part of the Russian imperial project and that Swedish forces are unjust occupiers of free people.
The population of the region is fairly small, and the rebellion have only been able to muster 10,000 militiamen. However, through anonymous financiers they have been able to employ foreign mercenaries.
Total Rebel force, located in Ingria:
-9,000 irregulars
-1,000 militia cavalry
-4,000 line infantry
-100 howitzers
The army heads to Narva to lay siege.
