To show his support of those states to the east of the Holy Roman Empire, Leopold makes an imperial visit to the larger Kingdom of Saxony where he meets with the King of Saxony. They discuss at length the question of Brandenburg. Leopold declares that should any member state of the Holy Roman Empire be attacked by Brandenburg, and should any member attack another member, then Austria will, with all means available, come to the aid of the attacked. Leopold declared this to be but an extension of the declaration he made whilst visiting The Palatinate. "My commitment as Holy Roman Emperor is to keep the confederation safe and secure so that a prosperous Fatherland may flower and bloom with happiness for our children to come".
