To ensure that a crisis will not again return to the Rhine, Leopold travels to the Archbishopric of Trier where he meets with the political elite of the city. Matters such as the security of the Rhine are discussed and the on going war between the French and the Dutch. The Emperor assures the population of Trier that Austria has no intention of becoming involved in wars that threaten the stability of the Holy Roman Empire. The local garrison commander is also decorated by Leopold and so too is the Duke of Trier.

OOC: Trier is also an Archbishopric.
Price-Archbishop Johann Hugo von Orsbeck greeted the Emperor warmly, and congratulated him on the defeat of Elizabeth Charlotte's claim to the Palatinate. He informs the Emperor that many in the Archbishopric are still concerned about French expansion, having suffered heavily during the Thirty Years War. France still lays claim to Trier, and Johann Hugo swears upon the Emperor, the Holy Father and the Trinity of Christ that he will die with a sword in his hand if he must to rid the world of that most devious traitor to the faith - Louis XIV.

Leopold is very pleased with the remarks being made by Prince-Archbishop Johann Hugo von Orsbeck, commenting "this is the kind of man we need leading the armies of the Holy Roman Empire". Austria does not recognise the claim of France on Trier, and it never will, France will not be able to challenge a single member on the Rhine with out reply from Austria. Leopold would like to further strengthen the relationship between Austria and Trier.
