OOC: On my phone until my laptop is fixed so I'm going to have to present posts in a direct and not so RP intense fashion. (With plenty of autocorrect screw ups along the way!)
Looking to consolidate the country's position in South America and to stimulate overseas growth, the Portugese crown hereby opens an enquiry into establishing colonies in Rio Grand do Sul and in southern Banda Oriental (OOC: If I'm correct in thinking we are using the EUIV map, the provices I'm concerned with are two: Rio Grand do Sul and Montevideo).
An enquiry into the required resources and costs for such a venture is set into motion. Enterprising fellows from Portguese Brazil and Banda Oriental are also notified, in hopes that localised support may mitigate the logistical issues at hand.

Your inquiry into the colonial ventures makes good use of your colonial presence in the Southern Americas. It seems the region is inhabited by native tribes, more civilised than those in deeper in the rainforest, but still barbaric. They have at times put up minor levels of resistance to Spanish settlers in the area. Although Spain has some minor colonies in the area, their presence is limited and it will be simple enough to incorporate them into a well-funded Portuguese administration.
To settle the first colonists, you are advised to spend around 15,000 Ducats. They will also need a temporary garrison during the early years of colonisation to ensure they are protected from the barbaric natives, and the even more barbaric Spaniards.
Brazil offers to send their own units to protect the colony, but ask that the tax they pay to the Crown is reduce by 25% during the time it takes for the colonies to achieve their maximum output. Once fully colonised, it is believed that the Portuguese would own enough territory in the region to establish a new colonial administration to govern the Greater Banda Oriental area.

The Portuguese King had been engrossed in a horticultural masterpiece and had completely forgot he was running a country. The crown releases the funds needed for the venture, and for the purchase of 2,000 irregulars for the defence of the area. Brazil is thanked for its offer but is told that the crown will make the arrangements needed.

I order to further empower the future colonial adminstration of Mozambique, Dom Pedro directs his ministers to explore the possibility of extending Portugal's control of the souther coast of the area. As always, the Portugese crown will provide men and money as required.
OOC: The two provinces on the EUIV map that I am concerned with in this venture are Imhambane and Matsolo.

10,000 Ducats will suffice. No soldiers are necessary, as the area is soon to be governed by locally established authorities (i.e. the provinces will join with the administration in Mozambique.
