OOC: Tim, the same logic would apply to the Battle of the Sound as regarding preparations and the battle outcome. However, one has to accept that even a really good admin cannot manage the multiple aspects of the game to the satisfaction of all.
We're now in a dialogue for improving it in future, but events having passed would either all need to be put under review or not. Alternatively, I propose a one time windfall of revenues for all nations, to help recover losses in battle (and prevent future discouragement from engaging under the new arrangements).

OOC: I don't think the sound can really be compared, but I suppose it is besides the point. I would support an idea for a financial windfall to recover the situation, if people are indeed against the notion of re-doing the battle. Any solution which allows the game to continue with all parties happy.

OOC: I'm absolutely sure it can be, but as you suggest, besides the point.
The issue with re-doing it would be the resetting of events and opening up other battles for re-examination. The strategic outcome should not be changed (as a principle) but the means of addressing it (e.g. funds) should perhaps be.

OOC: Even a re-calculation of the losses would be ample.
